We encrypt all analyzed student data, and our student safety and wellness solutions have attained compliance with SOC 2 information security standards. Additionally, we meet or exceed the highest standards for student data privacy, including maintaining compliance with all state, federal, and international data privacy regulations.

AOC 2 Type 2 Certification badge

Securly is the only K-12 student safety and wellness technology provider to attain SOC 2 Type 2 Certification for its suite of solutions. Data centers used by Securly for limited retention of data are also SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. Attained through a rigorous third-party audit by a leading national accounting and advisory firm, SOC 2 Type 2 certification affirms that Securly's information security practices, policies, procedures, and operations meet the SOC 2 standards for security.

AES 256-bit encryption

Securly safeguards all restricted and confidential data using AES 256-bit encryption when stored on any media type. Advance Encryption Standard (AES) is an international standard that ensures data is encrypted/decrypted following this approved standard. It ensures high security and is adopted by the U.S. government and other intelligence organizations across the world.

Strict adherence to policies on data usage & retention

Securly will never sell, rent, or trade student data to other organizations, nor will Securly use student data to target advertisements. Securly retains logged student data information at the direction of the school or district to which it is providing services and complies with school requirements to delete data when it is no longer necessary to fulfill its obligations to provide the services. Student data is destroyed as directed by the school or district, or as otherwise required by law. Additionally, districts and schools must comply with federal laws regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information of its students.

AI analysis and quarantining of images

Image analysis is conducted using artificial intelligence (AI), not human review. If an image is flagged as containing nudity, it is immediately quarantined and accessible only to authorized school personnel. At no time are images containing nudity viewable by or accessible to Securly employees.

Proactive vulnerability detection and breach prevention

Securly invests in a “bug bounty program,” which involves hiring third-party ethical hackers to discover and report potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities in our systems so they can be remedied.

Compliance with data privacy regulations

Securly complies with international, federal, and state student privacy regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), COPPA, FERPA, and CSPA.
